    C.A.M.P

I have some questions about the C.A.M.P program, if anyone involved can shoot me a PM I would appreciate it.

I am not sure if the CAMP Program is still around, the head agent that used to run it is now working for the Madera Sheriff's Department. I think when the DOJ layed off the gang units and stuff that the CAMP Program got axed or greatly reduced.

I heard fish and game was heading it up now, if it's still in the works.

DOJ was doing training in the early summer on open space where I work.

I never had a good experience with CAMP... The people were great, but apprehension and conviction are NOT a part of their goals... The are (Were) all about eradication.

I don't mind humping into the worst places but if I'm going in, I'm bring out those cock faces in cuffs.

I did the CAMP thing back in the 80's two weeks of tromping around in the forest and cutting weed. Flying in the helicopters was fun....We never saw any growers in any garden......If you don't like hiking cross country and hard work then CAMP is not for you....

Staying in Garberville was a real experience... None of the locals were friendly.....In fact the local radio station gave out daily "CAMP reports" telling the growers what, if any info that the locals picked up from the CAMPERS......

From what I know, CAMP is no longer around. BNE, who leads the program was terminated 4 years ago. In 2006, I did a tour with the Fresno unit and was sent out to SoCal. Prior of being sent out, we went to the central coast for 2 weeks of training, consist of roping off helicopters, firearms training, and survival skills.
              Great experinces and pays well.

Never came across a farm with protecting guards. We pretty much go in force and give the area good welcoming warning prior to cutting them down. I would love to do it again.
