    CHP Notice to Appear question

I was pulled over today because my front license plate was off the vehicle. The officer also told me I was going a "little fast and should slow down". He cited me for the license plate and told me he was giving me a verbal warning for the speeding. When I got the ticket from him, I noticed he wrote down "speeding" on the line under the 5200(8) front license plate violation. There is no code cited and he didn't circle the I or M for misdemeanor or infraction. He also placed a "v" that was circled in front of the word "speeding". Under all that he listed my approx speed as 60 in a 55.

Did he give me a written "verbal" warning or did he site me for speeding?

He just cited you for the missing front plate. The "circle v" is a note to himself that he gave you a verbal for speeding.

Verbal warning based on your post.
