If i have a ccw permit, will it effect my hiring for applying to be a PO/leo?

I know one recruit in my agency a couple academy classes ago that had one. It will probably bring up some more questions than otherwise, but it's not a deal-breaker. Of course, much of this depends on the agency...I can only speak for my experience.

I had a recruit in my class many years ago in Hawaii and I thought it pushed her through as far as background but now that I think of it, maybe they were taking her out of class for negative reasons due to her exposed or CCW. It depends on the agency.

If you want to be Probation Officer it will absolutely NOT affect your consideration for the position (unless the county is just out of their minds)

It's very common for new POs to be hired who have CCWs.

If you would like any specific info about working in probation or the carry guidelines for off-duty officers, feel free to PM me.
