CDCR New Recruits

Does anyone know where CDCR is offering for new recruits to be sent, I was hopeful for High Desert and I have heard nothing but them offering that as one of the top 3 places because no one wants to go up to the middle of nowhere. Then I was talking to my uncle whose best friend works at HDSP and he told them they were on a hiring freeze, which contradicts everything else that I've heard.

Also I'm fairly open to being sent anywhere in Northern California, does anyone recommend certain facilities or are there facilities that I should try to avoid at all costs?

I know quite a few in the current academy are going to Old Folsom, some to Stockton, some to Sierra Conservation Camp and so on. Was High Desert not an option for you? Did you ask for it?

I'm still in the application process just curious where they are sending people.

Thank god that at the Washington State Department of Corrections we apply directly to the prison we will work at. None of this getting shipped off to Walla Walla, Clallam Bay or some other high CO need facility.

I am one interview away from being sent to the Corrections academy here, that is held at the facility you plan on working at. In my case that is the Washington Corrections Center for Women.

I received a email today saying they need to fill positions in Crescent City and at two facilities in Susanville.

Email stated those who choose on of the three may have their process expedited.

OP, CDCR is hiring for statewide. They will rotate through the understaffed facilities first, but are always looking for officers for Pelican Bay, High Desert & Susanville. I'm positive that if you said that you wanted to go to HDSP, that you would be fast tracked and hired. Be advised thou that HDSP has had lots of overtime available on both a voluntary and an involuntary nature.

Thanks guys, when I was talking to my BI he asked me if I was wanting HDSP I told him yes so he had to file my paperwork differently so I would be fast tracked, I will also have a wardens request coming from there as well. I have my written psych on 3/19. I guess they emailed all the current applicants and asked them if they wanted Pelican HDSP or CCC, if they said yes they were fast tracked if they said no they were going to be delayed longer than usual.

My buddy already works for Leo department so they offered him nearby his house because they knew he was not that desperate for a job.
