How strict is LAPD on the 180 days for hiring process?

I am active in the hiring process. I have finished backgrounds, psych, poly - almost everything. The only thing I am waiting on is PAT1. I passed PAT2 and have attended CAPS- however; I got a pretty bad wrist injury which has hindered me and I could not pass PAT1.

When I asked my mentor, I was told that I only have until the 180 days is up and thats it. However; I know there can be exceptions sometimes... Have any of you LAPD/ex-LAPD seen these exceptions happen? I think my 180 days is up already or should be any day now... Havent heard anything from the city in the past couple months...

Any insight would help and is much appreciated!

    Thank you!

When I went through the process, it took them 8 months to finally get back to me. By that time I had already been picked up by another agency and in my second month of FT. Hope it works out for you.

If it's the same as when i went through the process, 180 is when your background expires.

The only good thing I could think of and having no knowledge of LAPD is that if you passed all these steps before, such as background etc. and the 180 days does expire it should be a lot simpler to do a background on you the next go around and shouldn't take very long at all.
