Sounds like you're not serious about the job. If you want to get hired, you'll jump through the hoops. We all did it.I've been having issues dealing with a recruiter. I have a CDL issued in my name, that proves I'm a CA resident. However, he wants my physical address or temporary print out to display my change of address. I am rather busy attending college courses, I dread going to the DMV.
I was under the impression that writing the new address on the back is sufficient? I've also offered him a copy of my passport which shows im a CA resident too.
Long story short I am sorta avoiding the DMV, he is also making it difficult for me also. I've showed him a copy of CDL that proves I'm a CA resident.
What are the laws regarding CDL and residency? Are you required to obtain a new CDL each time you move?
It also shows the recruiter how serious you are. Difference between "expedited" pile, and "all others."

He is an anti-gun guy and he said. "Well, you can't eat ammunition". I replied with "When I'm starving to death with a case of ammunition, who's door do you think I am going to knock on?" -
you can also make a appointment to go to the DMV, fast in, fast out.
Why the big hassle, if your already questioning stuff now makes me wonder about your maturity level for the future. Maybe the military or whatever it is, is not the thing for you right now.Comment

While I certainly do not mean to “pile on”; but, as previously mentioned, just how serious are you about being hired by whatever organization you are talking to a recruiter about?
Keep in mind, you have to meet their standards and requirements, they make the rules, not you. How badly do you want to join their organization?
If you feel it is inconvenient to provide the requested documentation, how are you going to handle other issues that come up during the hiring and initial training process?Last edited by 003; 08-20-2013, 9:07 PM.Comment

Really? If I was the recruiter (either military or leo) I would toss your bg in the round file. If your willing to spend more time trying to get out of doing something than actually doing it, what type of cop or soldier will you be? What other corners will you try to cut to take the easy way out. Your recruiter has hundreds of other people who are dying to have the job you are applying for and would gladly wait days on end in the dmv for a chance at being a cop or military member. You are being looked at and have a chance at a good job and your playing games with the recruiter? Sad.Comment

Today's generation.Originally posted by CactuscoolerAlot of tough guys in here. I'm currently attending a fire academy, so I have a full load on me. I study when I get home and will be taking tests and piratical skills exams.
I've done my part. I've met this military recruiting on several occasions, I drove an hour to 30 mins at a time to meet him. Spent my time and gas money, sat in and did drill. So it's quite comical you'd accused me of being immature. Yes, maybe I'm just complaining about how ONE little thing could cause such a big commotion.
But damn, I sought out legal advice and I feel like I had a talk with my dad.

In the military, law enforcement, fire or anything set up with a chain of command and para military type order you are expected to do what is asked of you. Doesn't matter what the deal is, a lot of things in these fields, in other fields and in life is how much you follow through on things.Originally posted by CactuscoolerAlot of tough guys in here. What legal advice were you seeking out? Do you want the job? Is the recruiter requesting this? Should be enough said. Either do what the recruiter says or don't take the job!
I am almost 36 years old and I had the same kind of inmature attitude that you had years ago when I was young. Time to realize that life doesn't revolve around you and what you think.Comment

Our entitlement society has caused this type of expectations among some of our young people....
He's an "applicant", and probably will never be anything but an "applicant".....
Hopefully.....Poke'm with a stick!
