Forgot drivers licsense while carrying concealed.

I drove to Red Bluff and back from Sacramento with my carry piece. I do have a permit to carry. I didn't realize untill I got home that I left my drivers licsense on the table. What could I have expected if I got pulled over? And what can I do if it happens again?

I am not a LEO but you can always unload the weapon and store it in your trunk the way non-CCW folks transport legally.

I recently ran out of the house on an errand to our storage unit and forgot my wallet at home. I wasn't carring at the time (or so I thought) but halfway home it occured to me that there was a bag in the back seat with a pistol in it, which is normally covered by my carry permit. Oops. I'm thinking of printing a copy of my permit and stowing that in the bag, just for "insurance".

At the least a fix-it ticket for 12951a cvc (license not in possession). You would also have probably been detained, until your identity can be verified. I would avoid even the slightest chance of that happening by keeping everything together in one place and one place only. If it happens again the suggestion of putting it away is probably a safe bet, just make sure to unload it first.

It's not the end of the world. More than likely, you'd be checked out, then sent on your way without further incident. No big deal.... 99% of the time. After all, there are some anti-gun cops out there too.

If it happened again, well, you won't know till some later point that you forgot your license in the first place, right? I would do as some above have suggested and keep your CCW/CDL together so you always have both when you leave home.

Same thing happen to me but I do have a lock box in the car, in the the back seat that is bolted to the car. I unloaded the pistol and placed it in the lock box and stored the ammo in the trunk. Not sure if this works but at least the leo sees I am trying to make a respectable attempt.

I would say you are cooked. Just go down and turn yourself in.
Seriously I don't know how many times John Law has interrogated me about the whereabouts of my cdl, but instead just accepted that next time I would bring it, or if I know the number, which I do, check it with no problem.
