I remember the recent thread about a CDCR CD being shot at a gas station. This reminded me of that. No information that this is is or is not work related at this point. Some reports stated he was on his way to work in part of his uniform. This report states he was working on his truck (at 0400?).

Maybe both. Could of had car trouble on his way to work and was fixing it. Speculation on my part sound as if maybe his truck was disabled so he could get shot while fixing it. We'll have to see how it plays out though. Sucks, my thought are with his family right now.

Reminds me of a CDCR officer that was killed in his driveway in Sacramento in 2008. He was shot a little before 5:00 am as he was getting ready to leave for work. It came out later that he was having an affair with the wife of a Sacramento Sheriff's deputy and the deputy had his two brothers kill him.

No word on if it is / is not work related.

DO was in "part" of his uniform, most likely pants and undershirt. Went outside his house to start his truck, was shot then died. No suspect info.

I believe the Correctional Officer was on his way home from work. He was pumping gas while wearing a cover shirt. The 2 men asked for directions and then one opened fire. Striking the 52 year old three times. Twice in the torso and once in the head. One of the shooter paroled in March of 2012 from the same Prison he worked at. Both have been apprehended and have been identified as gang affiliates.

Did the detention officer get to conceal carry? More correctional officers, jailers, detention officers should be allowed to conceal carry. There jobs are just as important and dangerous just like any other law enforcement job.... RIP brother

It's AZ. If you are legally allowed to possess a firearm and are over 21, you are allowed to CC a pistol. If you are legally allowed to possess a firearm and are over 18, you are allowed you OC a pistol, and FTF purchase pistols.
