    Hiking question

I was wondering it it was legal to carry a pistol exposed or concealed without a carry permit while hiking? I was looking at some national parks and planning an over night trip. I was advised that there are wildlife that I had to watch out for ex. Black bears and mountain lions. Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Theres a thread about rules / regs / laws, etc pertaining to each Park, National Forest, BLM, CA Park, Fed Land, etc, etc.

Do a search. I don't have a readily available link to provide you.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=186457 is the sticky in the Outdoors forum.

Rule of Thumb - if it's legal to shoot, it's legal to carry. So research to see if where you are going allows hunting or target shooting, and remember that in CA public lands can move from Federal to State to local parks in a very short distance - and each of those might have different rules.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
