      I have several co-workers in my area that volunteered for our local Special Olympics games/qualifiers/whatever they were (sorry, I don't know!) and they all thoroughly enjoyed the time even though the only thing they got physically was a sun burn. Every one of them said simply seeing the smiles on the participants faces was more than enough reward.
