I'm sure they do, just go online and find the nearest regional office to you and give them a call!

Pretty sure they do, but I can't recall ever seeing them with one. I work with them regularly. What part of the state are you in?

*edit* nvm, I see your profile says SD. If you were up north I could have passed your info to one of them

I rode with my friend numerous times. Now I don't know if he just took me because we are friends or what. I've never seen him or heard of him taking anyone else as in "general public." I'll ask him.

CA Game Warden is likely the hardest peace officer job in the state to get into.

I was offered a spot in the Cal Game Warden academy. They run an extensive background check, even more than my friends who became sheriffs or pd. it can be a long process. Be prepared to travel to Sacramento several times on your own dime. The academies vary greatly depending on where they are held. I was going to have to find my own lodging during the academy and be hours away from an airport on weekends, making trips home difficult and expensive. You'll also be expected to buy a lot of gear and uniform before academy ever starts. You will have to compete for where you would like to work and may have to move once you become a warden.

Initially you'll make less than 40k. After five years or so expect to make 65-75k if you work LOTS of overtime. Often you'll be by yourself far away from backup. Your work schedule will depend entirely on you lieutenant. You may get opportunities to travel the state to work some of the busier areas during peak season.

Positives are a fun job with awesome coworkers. You will shoot thousands of dollars worth of ammo for free monthly. Their weapons are top of the line. You have access to a multitude of paid training, some of which may lead to lucrative careers outside of DFW. You'll feel good about what you do and the retirement is good but it was better before moonbeam's PEPRA.

Be warned competition is stiff. There were a lot of guys from out of state who were trying out because it was their dream to be a Game Warden. If your vision isn't 20/20, you're out so you may need to get LASIK surgery
