San Diego Sheriff weapons?

What is the SDSD issuing for the deputies?
I have seen a few deputies around with the same set up on their duty belt, is that standard? Can it be modified or re-arranged in order to suit the deputy?
What is the exact holster they are using?

When I was there 7 years ago, they issued Gen 3 Glock 22's and were in a level two retention holster. They began issuing Streamlight M3 lights at that time to their patrol deputies. Their Sam Browns can be arranged however the individual deputy chooses. Believe they are using the Safariland 6920 for their duty holster now. Hope this helps.

I am looking for the actual qualification course for the San Diego Sheriff's academy....
I know about the two threads...I messed that up and posted another

San Diego Sheriff's Academy is the for Courts/Detentions Deputies only and is the same 832 post firearms qualification as the Regional Academy. I can't remember the course of fire off hand. I can probably ask my bud in WTU if you're in dire need of it. FYI, department quals and lateral pre employment quals are completely different.

So my buddy says they are basically free once they are a sheriff to rearrange whatever and add stuff or use different holsters or whatever they like to use. I wouldn't worry about qualifying he stated that there are some people in the academy that have never even held a gun before.

In the latest PORAC issue, an article showed a Ruger PC as their "smg." That was interesting.

When I was there, there was not a specific qualification in the academy. We had numerous drills and different qualifications that we did throughout the academy. There was not one set standard for the tests as we went through.

So on and so forth....
