That's why it's understandable that not all LEOs would know how this works.
It's not only math but the politics behind it, making sure everyone is on the same page, BEFORE, you release a guy, and suddenly a judge is calling to ask why he's standing in his court room on a fresh charge/cite when he was JUST sentenced and should be in jail.
That's not fun explaining to a judge, so it's all best to have the judge, DA, PD all in sync with the jail, so the DA ain't calling when the guy is released on that 30 day early order.
