    I passed my POST!!

I received an email from SFPD confirming that I passed my POST exam, which was taken on March 8.

Question: Do any of you know what the next step in the hiring process is? I can't seem to find it anywhere in here, even while using the search option or maybe I'm just missing it. Lol!

    Thanks

What does the letter say is the next step? Probably something along the lines of they will review the test results and persons selected to move along in the process will be contacted, for further testing. Most likely physical agility, oral boards, background and all the testing that costs them $$$.

Doh! I just read the top part of the email. I was so excited when it said 'Congratulations you've passed' that I didn't read anything after that. I didn't realize it stated that oral boards and physical agility were the next step. Lol! Thx

Long road ahead. First exam is simply to weed out the people without a pulse.

Keep after it, the hard stuff is next. Good luck

Thx, I'll try to but might end up hyperventilating. Lol! I heard about the grueling process but I will persevere.

Take a breath, junior. You just got started. Keep your head down and keep plugging away.

Physical is easy. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

After you pass your oral board and physical, the background process begins.

If you have an extensive work history, start getting your exact hire and leave dates now. Start getting together a list of possible references.

The background is a long and drawn out process.

                    Good luck

Thanks fellas. I actually did an extensive PHS (Personal History Statement) for the CDCR 2 years ago and I made a copy of it for my records, so I will just transfer my work history to the new forms that I'll be filling out.

I was also told to go to Social Services and the DMV to ask for a print out of my record and driving history.

congratulations, you have a pulse and can probably pass the GED test.

Getting hired is tough these days and even worse with all the college kids looking for a paycheck and benefits but are not willing to get their hands dirty.

                          Best of luck to you

Congrats DMendoza! I had my first interview with my assigned detective last Wednesday and I am currently in the hiring process myself with the SDSO. Will be submitting my PHS soon and getting ready for the physical agility test.

Exactly. To the OP, be patient. The only thing longer than waiting in line at the DMV, is getting hired into law enforcement.
