      I agree 100% with that, (and this is off topic now) but what would the status of the RAW be? Possessed by someone in the household, who is then committing a felony, since it is registered to the deceased?

        If my dept made me turn in my ar. I would strip it down to the lower and take a cut off wheel to it and turn in a box of scrap metal.

          Once its registered as an AW it will always be an AW in CADOJ eyes. It's best to buy another lower and turn in the registered one or sell out of state.

              or, if it is an unlisted make/model, that you remove the AW features and do an NLIP for it. once converted into a non-AW, it can be unregistered and treated as a standard rifle.
