my fiances sister was approached the other day and asked to get in someones car. she works late hours and such and has to walk home as she has no car. my question is where and what can i buy that is good oc spray... not that bs stuff they sell at 7/11 ect.

depending on where you are, most the gun stores I frequent actually carry them. I can't attest to their strength though.

Remember you better be familiar with the California laws regarding possesion of OC or equvalent. Size, amount, laws regarding use etc.

If you use it and are wrong (assuming you really f'ed up) Assault with caustic chemicals is a felony (PC 244).... just do your homework.

If you were wrong/possession or use you would most likely be facing one of the misdemeanor old 12020 sections (whatever they are now) regarding possession/use of tear gas/oc etc.

This. Depending on where you are, check with your local LE supply or uniform store. Also try galls.com

2.5oz or less of pepper is legal to possess/use; just be mindful of any prohibited areas (such as a courthouse sterile area of an airport, etc). The locations previously mentioned are good options to look for some OC. Kimber Pepper Blaster's are another possible option, but I don't know how well they work vs normal OC delivery methods.

The way it just sticks to the face as they begin clawing their eyes out...or I claw my eyes out for that matter, because my partner somehow always got at least 40% on me...

What is general preferance

Buy 2-3 of them... To into a field of the corner of your yard and have them practice with 1 or 2 of them.

My mom was worried that her spray had expired so she went to buy a new one.

We practiced with the old one and she turned it towards her eyes while figuring out how to turn off the safety with her finger.

Once we got things sorted out, she was surprised at how limited the range and spray was. She was expecting a 2" fire hose blast, not a tobasco squirt

Try to get them to take it out from their purse or pocket while looking at the target, not the spray and give a 1 second blast.

Clean the spray off with a paper towel and repeat

Some of the cheap sprays are built like a traditional household cleanser bottle. If they are not upright, the stray that draws the spray does the OC

The good ones have a pressurized device inside and will spray at any angle. Think of being on the ground and spraying when the OC is horizontal or even upside down
