Loading an AK to an LEO

My brother, who is a peace officer for a large agency, asked to borrow one of my AKs. I know most of the issues with loaning to non-LEOs, but I wanted to make sure we are square with current laws. I looked over the CG flow chart, but didn't see an obvious exemption for law enforcement. So my questions are as follows:
    1) Can I loan him a couple of my (legally obtained) high-cap magazines, since he can legally buy them anyway, or is loaning a felony for me regardless of my brother's exemption?
    2) Since I have a pistol grip on it, can I leave it on for him with high-cap mags, or are LEOs also exempt from the "evil features" issues I'm bound by?
    3) Would I take off the bullet button assuming he intends to use high-cap mags?

I know the laws as they pertain to me, but I'm not sure I understand all the exemptions, nor does my brother.

    1) Having the high caps is not going to be an issue.

2 and 3) He is not exempt from California "assault weapons" laws with this firearm.

I get that him having high-cap mags isn't an issue, but could me lending my high-cap mags to him be an issue for me? That is what I'm not sure of.

32400. Section 32310 does not apply to the sale of, giving of,
lending of, importation into this state of, or purchase of, any
large-capacity magazine to or by any federal, state, county, city and
county, or city agency that is charged with the enforcement of any
law, for use by agency employees in the discharge of their official
duties, whether on or off duty, and where the use is authorized by
the agency and is within the course and scope of their duties.

If the AK has a BB on it, he cannot take it off nor can he use large capacity feeding devices on an AK with a BB. Both acts would constitute manufacturing under CA laws.

Your brother is bound by the same laws as you when it comes to AW's except for department authorized RAW's, if he has any.

I hope by your statement that you are also not thinking about ever using the large capacity magazines in your BB'ed AK. That is a big no no. Never, ever, insert a large capacity magazine in any BB'ed weapon. You can only use those magazines in a featureless or a RAW, LEO or not.

Thanks for weighing in. I know the laws as they apply to me regarding BBs, high-cap magazines and evil features, but didn't know the extent of the exemptions for law enforcement. My non-restricted mags are for my other AK. Thanks to both of you for the heads up.

You have a RAW AK? Nice. Too bad the laws on those suck too.
