Hogan Personality Imventory? Done one before?

    Greetings all

Current Paramedic-Firefighter, applying to a municipal agency that has sent me link to "Hogan Personality Inventory"

Wondering if anyone from LEO / Fire community has done this? Does it include probing by aliens or anything? Going to log in and complete this evening - have done some reading upon it and curious as to what I should expect?

Figure I'd ask here as LEO has to partake in same / similar steps for hiring process.

It'll probably look alien, but here's what it's about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Fiv...onality_traits

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I wonder how it differs from the MMPI

Might not differ a lot in the way the questions are presented, but the intent of the MMPI is to identify personality disorders - see http://psychology.about.com/od/psych...ing/a/mmpi.htm

IIRC from my Psych testing class, the test was originally developed by giving the questions to a set of mental patients who had been diagnosed with various disorders. Answers that tend to match the answers from a patient with a particular disorder are suggestive that the test-taker might have a similar disorder.

As I remember the MMPI, the written test consisted of some 500 questions many of which were repeated, but stated differently. I understood the test was to determine passive/aggressive behavior, though I imagine other personality traits were detected as well. I must have been fine, as I was hired.

Repetitive questioning - psychological based. To be determined.

I took something similar, just answer the questions and don't try to get all tricky by reading into the questions.
