Taking POST next weekend for Sac PD...

this might be a stupid question; but does a higher score give me better chances of being selected for a police recruit position?
you don't rise to the occasion,
you just fall back on your level of training.

Did you apply with Sac PD and this will be your written test? It definitely helps to score high on the test but it won't be the only thing they will be looking at during your hiring process. You could score the bare minimum, but then just "wow" them during the oral interview. I've always thought that the oral is the most important step into getting yourself hired. Having a good T score would help though if you don't get a super high score I wouldn't stress about it. Good luck!

Kind of yes and no. As said above there are more important tests that most places look harder at. A good score will help you move on to the next step in testing, especially if there are quite a few people taking the test. Just do the best you can, and don't give up if this is what you really want. Don't let one or two disappointments kill your dream. Most people I know went through the process more than once.

I'm surprised they are taking apps for cadets... There are SO MANY quality people out there who have already passed the academy. Good luck, and score well. it will help.

Excellent thank you! I am not very worried about the POST since from what I understand it's basic assessment test. We shall see what happens!
