    Question for Sharp shooters

I believe that in many of the law enforcement agencies the sharp shooters are supplied with the remington 700p as their sniper rifle with a 26" barrel. I have also heard that most shots occur under 100 yards. Do you believe that the 700 tactical with a 20" bull barrel would be better for working in the urban area then the longer barrel? Could you see a change occur to the shorter more manuverable barrel? and why or why not? Also I know there are some problems with the stock but that is easily fixable with a new stock and would probably still cost less at least for a civilian purchase. I placed this here because I wanted a law enforcement view of why you would prefer one over the other.

Thank you all very much for your time and your service, be safe.

The 26" has more velocity at longer distance like 700-800 yards +. I own a SPS tactical in .308, I was told buy the shop owner when I bought it. That a thick short barrel is just as effective, in some cases more stable and manuverable like you asked. The SPS tac can reach out to those distances it just requires more adjustments

He builds rifles for police agencies. Very smart guy. At 100 yards you won't notice a difference. The main factors to consider what MOA base your rifle is setup on.

Not LE, just my knowledge on the subject.
