    Wow I messed up---Vent

So I just need to vent a little bit.

So as of this morning I was processing with Burbank PD for the police officer position. I had already taken the written test and had my PAT today. Well I get time off work and drive to Burbank. Get there and I forgot to print out the email they sent me, which they wanted me to take. I was like, maybe I can still take the test, they probably have a list of applicants.

Well, I got sent home packing unable to take the test. What a bummer, I asked if I can reschedule, to which the HR guy said NO! I am really upset at myself for forgetting to print-out and take that notification with me. Lesson learned.

Attention to detail...I got zinged when I went in to sign in and get my academy manual. Signing in, it called for Last, First, Init. Well, I didn't put a comma or my middle initial...ooops!

I did that with Dixon PD back in the day... Those things happen man, and often for a reason. Learn from it, and move on.

Now I work for an awesome department and god forbid a complete collapse, I will retire there.

Yea, attention to detail, just have to learn from it and try again.

Definite attention to detail, it's a huge part of the job. Especially with report writing. You have to hold yourself to a higher level bro, always gotta be squared away. There'll be a next time, maybe not there but somewhere. Keep trying.

It is "messed up" not "mest up".

Attention to detail is critical in LE.

In the application process PD's are always looking for easy ways to cull the field... especially in the early stages. You gave them a gift. There are other agencies out there... just keep plugging away! Good luck~! ; )

I think mest up was deliberate.

Meh, I seriously doubt it, but if it makes you feel better, I'm ok with that.

Sorry man, no doubt attention to detail is part of the process. You weren't early enough that you couldn't find a nearby Kinko's?

At that point it was too late for me, lesson learned.

I know what you mean. I actually had an interview today so I'm not discouraged
                            Thanks

I was early, but by the time I drove down the the little mountain (where the test took place) found a printer and drove back up, it would have been too late.
