    transporting a firearm

Hi was wondering on transporting a locked handgun in a single cab pickup. Can you have the ammunition and firearm together? Can the ammunition be placed behind the seats to separate them or do the firearm or ammunition must be placed in the pickup box?

If they are in a LOCKED container, you may have the loaded magazines in the container, but NOT IN THE PISTOL.

While not legally required, it isn't a bad idea to transport in seperate containers. The handgun case needs to be locked regardless for several legal reasons.

In the above scenario it is fine to have them in the cab. Bottom line, keep the unloaded gun in a locked container. The rest takes care of itself.
