    Is this right?

Buddy of mine bought a firearm from Proforce today. Looking at his receipt the added the price of the firearm + the dros fee and then taxed that total amount.
So in essence, $500.00 + $35.00 (DROS) = $535.00 x TAX = Total price. Thought DROS isn't supposed to be taxed.

DROS is tax free and the state only charges FFL Dealers $25 per DROS per person.... They are know to charge an extra $10 to make up the price difference on the firearms....

Hmmm... if you buy a new firearm from them, they usually don't charge the ten bucks, which is charged for PPT's... and all of that is not subject to tax.

yea, they should NOT charge tax on the DROS. And if its a new handgun, the DROS fee should only be $25.00.
