citation question

I was going thru the automated system to get an extension. And I noticed the officer put an "H" for my middle initial. The system is asking me if it is correct? My middle initial is an "M". So I did not go further I hung up. Any suggestions how to proceed?

I highly doubt that it will affect the validity of the cite, but with some traffic commissioners you can never tell. If you need the extension get it, and deal with the error at court. Spelling counts, but people make mistakes, and some people just have piss poor penmanship, I fit in that category.

Go to the court before your date and speak to the clerk. Ask them if you can get an extension. Depending on the citation, you may have to see the judge and ask him/her for the extension.

The clerk may have entered H instead M, because many people write them similar. Different initial was not a fact when I watch traffic trials. Judge asked "did you get a ticket?" The defendet said yes, and that was it. Then the trial went on.
