Going to the range on my bicycle?

I dont own a car and i love to shoot. I usually go with my friend and we drive to morena discount gun mart here in SD or p2k range. I dont own any firearms yet but am going to get some very soon. Is there any LEGAL way to carry a handgun or rifle or shotgun down to the range on my bicycle? I was considering a ruger 10/22 takedown model for the obvious reasons. I know as of january 1st 2012 they took our open carry rights away in california so please let me know if there is any way to do this. thanks

i think if its unloaded and in a locked case you should be fine
