What paper work should I bring for oral board?

I am scheduled for Oral Board in a month for East Bay Regional Park.
On the letter they asked me to bring certificates and letter of recommendation.

I would like to know if I should bring:
- Foreign (Taiwan) EMT license
- BLS for Healthcare provider (CPR) card
- TCCC(Combat Lifesaver) training certificate
- USPSA membership card (since East Bay runs a public range with USPSA club)
- Firearm training certificates
- College transcript (to prove I was in Army ROTC and attended several field classes in school regarding backcountry parks.)

I'd give the agency a call and ask. That way you get facts not opinions from those not in the specific process.

I haven't heard of such a request at the oral board stage. Degrees, licenses, transcripts and training certs are typically addressed in your background packet.

"We welcome you to bring a recent performance evaluation(s), letter(s) of recommendation, and/or other materials which demonstrate your qualifications."

I will call tomorrow to ask if they want license and certificates.

Bring every single thing you got, the worst they can do is not read it but at least you have it.

My recommendation is to not bring anything. I went through many interviews and never was asked for anything besides during the background investigation. You may talk about the cert and quals that you have but handing them to the panel, never heard of that. FYI, EMT from taiwan, current bls and cpr don't matter as you will do those in the academy and be reminded every year to stay current....

I was an EMT and had all the junk prior and the raters like it on the oral. And being able to prove ahead of time that you are qualified, how does that not matter? When I sit on a panel and someone has that stuff, especially EMT, they get a couple points right there. Means they actually give a **** about their careers and other people, so they went out and sought education on their own that just might help.

Dude, they may not want anything, but with the letter saying what it says, here's what I'd do. Go to longs, or office depot. Buy a bunch of those sheet protectors and a small nondescript three ring binder. Put anything you may need in an individual sheet protector. Serves a couple purposes. Makes you look organized and over prepared, which as a new cop is what we want to see. And it helps you not shuffle through a pile of **** when you are nervous in an interview. They may not care or want to see it. But if they do you will look better being prepared.

Then again, an oral board is a subjective test. If you fumble the interview, or if they just plain don't get a good vibe, then all the certs in the world won't help.

A nice suit but nothing flashy. Most go in without anything but I guess it shows that your prepared if you do. They won't ask you for anything during an interview

If they want paper bring it. I know more than one failed actor who brought an 8x10 picture of themselves.

Make sure your coat and tie is clean.

USPSA cert is probably not needed. i rode with an officer there and asked about Chabot gun club and he said its rented by a guy and is independent of EBRPD other than the land
