    A question for any OCSD

My question is about traveling to and from the indoor shooting range aproximitly 2 miles from my house with my converted saiga(meaning fire control group moved foreward and pistol grip installed). The gun in this configuration with a bullet button (mag lock) installed and no more than 10 imported parts is legal in CA. My question or questions is first should I carry a printout of the laws describing how the rifle is legal in this configuration just as a safety precaution or are most OC sheriffs well informed about bullet buttons and 922R compliance. My second question is If I get pulled over by an officer who just jumps to conclusions and assumes its an assault weapon which it is not can I request that he calls for another officer who is better versed or more knowledgable about bullet buttons and 922R compliance.
Thank you in advance for any LEO 2 cents

carry the flow chart and law in legal text with the gun. Remember to carry it in a locked compartment, separate from your ammunition and out of sight. if you are not causing a problem or broadcasting your guns you usually shouldn't have a problem. lastly take all the gun stickers off of your vehicle and obey the rules of the road. If you don't look or act like a dirt bag you usually wont be treated like one.
