I would assume that you are ALWAYS being evaluated and you should dress accordingly. When I went down for my physical many moons ago they had some guy waiting for a while. He was dressed is flip flops shorts and torn shirt. They kept taking people ahead of him and he got pissed and started *****ing about it (he was there an hour before me). When i went in I heard him "complaining" to the deputy at the front...
After my physical I overheard to of the deputy's say " See I told you that guy is a hot head and couldn't hold his tongue." when i went out the guy was leaving and was *****ing about being kicked out. He still isn't a Deputy today ( although he is a CA and nothing has changed with regard to his attitude).
One thing you better get in your head right away on this job. You have to assume you are being watched ( and filmed) every time and every where."You are at fault for questioning the approved narrative.".... Cannon

Dang it, I could have used this advice in 1975 when I applied. I'd ask where you were back then, but you were probably not around or in diapers.

I've pretty much made a rule that if I go to a test, or even just stopping by the station to drop off paper work I am in professional attire. You never know who you may run into and the more people who see you and think "This guy has it together and is a professional' the better.
I've seen some guys show up in wrinked tank top and jeans...
^^^ What he said. First impressions and all. You're going to be a LEO. You'll learn that it's always best to "Expect the unexpected."Comment
