Daughter in law (dil) sold a vehicle to some "friends". The friends have the vehicle and the keys. There was never a bill of sale, just a verbal agreement.
They paid 50% down and were supposed to make a few payments.
They have made no payments and it doesn't look like they intend to.
Dil moved out of state and the car is still in her name since the people haven't paid it off.
What possible issues could the dil face if the people in possession of the car get a ticket or get arrested in the vehicle?
I assume possession of the vehicle/payment is a civil issue. Are there any possible criminal issues?
This came up as the registration expires in two weeks.
TIA
