When I took the Glock Armorer course this past January (@ Lodi PD), the instructor said that a Police Chief bought .380 Glocks for his department. About two months later the department sold them to the Officer's. He told me the name of the town but I don't remember. Of course it wasn't in Kali.

The beef was that they got them from Kimber for about 600 and sold them for 2000-3000. Ripping off Kimber in my opinion.

For example on a lot of these discounts that a company offer you have to click that you agree to purchase only for personal use and the item is not for resale.

It's shady and wrong if any person purchase for the purpose of reselling.

Now if they own it and used it for a while and decided to move on then that's a different story.

So I purchase a glock at a military discount and after 2-3 years I sold it to purchase another handgun.

They used Winchester 94's in he Mountain cars before adopting the AR-15. I remember getting a ride back to the trailhead one day from a San Dimas dep back in the 70's and he had one.

I'd love to get my hands on one of those.....

If anybody thinks Kimber got ripped off, or lost any money selling those guns at $600 are not thinking. Kimber made millions of dollars off buyers who wanted the Kimber that is just like the LAPD Swat gun. Pure marketing.

An Officer buys a handgun, latter decides he doesn't want it and sells it for the current demand market price. How is that a straw purchase ?

Then his buddy says "Ooh I'll do the same thing and make money too!"

The roster again turns cops into felons. Hmmm... not sure how to feel about that.

                          What is a straw purchase?
A straw purchase is buying a gun for someone who is prohibited by law from
possessing one, or buying a gun for someone who does not want his or her name
                          associated with the transaction.

Tell a dealer you are buying it to resell and make money. See if he still sells it to you.
