    COPSWEST? Worth it?

Hey Calgun LEOs. What do you think of "COPSWEST." It's billed as "America's Premiere Law Enforcement Expo." Have you ever gone to it? Does it live up to it's name? My point of reference is the SHOT Show, so I expect this to be much smaller. However, if the purchasing personnel are in attendance, it might be worth it.

Worth it as an attendee or vendor? I've been twice, and it was like a kid in a candy store. Lot of cool stuff, and new items geared to LE market. For a vendor these days ????? since pretty much no city has any money, the toy budget get's hit kind of hard, like it has for most of us. So it is a coin toss there are usually out of state attendee's also but pretty much everyone has money issues.

      As a vendor.

Good point though... With cash being tight, maybe next year is a better option.

A lot depends on the scaling issue and what your market is.

COPSWEST is the only southern California show which the local agencies go to since Trexpo (Long Beach, CA) has been cancelled. COPSWEST focuses a lot on vehicle technology. The regular vendors attend since there isnt another regular show in the area.

IACP is coming to San Diego next month, but preparation for that is a bit late.

The SHOT Show is a different scale, but the cost associated with it is also a lot larger. Many local agencies go to COPSWEST since the travel costs are not there.

As previously stated, finances continue to be a challenge for many agencies.

If the trip is low cost for you, then it might be worth looking into it.
