Quick question about CHP speeding ticket.

I was caught doing 80 on the freeway. I would pay my dues if I had the money. The question I have is that the cop only put the first 3 numbers of my DL number on the ticket. Does that affect anything? Could someone say, get the ticket thrown out because of it?

Depends upon the court. some are very precise, and some aren't. I wouldn't want to bet one way or the other, on it being tossed. It could also have been an error with the paper, where the original has all the info correct, but the copies didn't copy completely fold in the paper or whatever.

You may be getting a letter of correction for that in the mail. Normally the court will want the number to enter it in their data base.

Mk. Thanks for the info. I will wait until I get that letter and go from there.

As previously stated, it wont matter. A letter of correction will get sent later. And if not, it probably still won't matter. It's not much different than him writing down "maroon" as car color and you arguing that it's really "red" and therefore ticket should be dismissed.

What you were given is a notice to appear. Any information on it is mainly for the officer's benefit. He can amend the ticket until your court date.
