Ron, I read about the accident in the Press Enterprise, but obviously didn't know of your connection to the young man. I am sorry for your and especially your son's, loss.

May a fine young man rest in peace.

Sorry to hear. In my mind it sounds like something that should have never happened.

"The driver of the pickup, Juan Tzun Lopez, 24, of Riverside, is being investigated for vehicular manslaughter without negligence..."

      No licence, without negligence... really?

I think that is a typo on the part of the press. It should be "without gross negligence."

Yardsale, you can't trust PE reporting facts or using spellcheck.

What a shame, was this unlicensed driver one of the many gentlemen who stand across from the home depot all day? It's a shame the people we elect choose not to enforce certain laws. God bless the victims family, people like him are rare in mo valley.

An article in today's paper said the suspect has two prior DUIs and one is still being adjudicated. He has never been licensed to drive in this or any other state. An immigration hold has been put on him.

The charges are misdemeanor now, but hopefully when they get the tox results back, they are able to charge a felony. I know it won't bring Dominic back, but if convicted of a felony, he might at least do more time.

Rest in Peace, Dominic. You are missed already. I did not know you well, but you touched my life.

The local news did a real nice tribute to him today. Services are Friday.

I knew him not well enough, but knew him to be a great man. His service was today and was nice. Hard, but gave those he touched some comfort. RIP.
