    Questions on applying for LAPD

    Hello all,

Ive always wanted to get into Law Enforcement (specifically LA Rampart or CHP)... I finally put in my application and will be taking the exam in little over a week. I know this topics been beat to death, but I had a few questions and if any of you could help, I would appreciate it greatly!

    1. Am I write in assuming the Pocket Exam is the same as the Written Exam but on a computer/tablet instead?

    2. I know with most govt jobs, I need to have information on both parents if living. Well, My dad and I dont have a good relationship; but if I pass the exam, is it better to get in touch with him so I have his information to give them? Does it help that he is a sargeant with the US Army?

    3. What happens after I take the pocket exam, do I just go home? Get results right away?

    Anywho, Thanks guys!!

I believe there is a website up for LAPD's background specifically... I will try to find it.

PoliceBackground.net helps police applicants pass their police background check with expert coaching, PHS preparation, and guidance on avoiding disqualifiers. Retired LAPD background investigator Ken Roybal provides clear, professional support for every step of the law enforcement hiring process.

Go into the forum and ask. As far as I know, many of them work in the BI department and are happy to help.

If your future reports end up in court, it might be beneficial to understand right vs write.
