Reporting stolen property after vehicle theft

Recently my truck was stolen, and it wae recovered (found) rather quickly. County S.O. (RSO) was taking my report and said my truck was located in the next city (Riverside). At the time I was unaware if anything had been taken from the vehicle.

My question is, how do I file a report of the stolen property? Do I talk to the agency that I filed the stolen report with of the agency who found my truck.

Do I contact the deputy who took the stolen report, or do I go file it at one of their stations.

    Thank You in advance.

My advise is to make a list of all of the items that you know were stolen and write them down with as much detail as possible (ie: color, make, model, description, serial numbers, ect.) and call the non emergency line of the original department that took the report. They may have a form for you to fill out or may ask you to email them the list. I prefer the email so it is easier for me to add in the supplemental report.

      This^^

The dept. that took the original report is the one you file your supplemental with. Riverside PD only takes the recovered stolen report.
