    What holsters/gear did LE/Feds use for revolvers in CA

    I know with a lot of states police used local leather companies or gear companies when they could, in the 60s to 80s does anyone know what they used and were any property marked (I know NYPD marked holsters and stuff). Preferably anything with beverly hills as I got a issued 681 from them and would like to get correct holster/speed loaders/pouches etc. Also am curious as I have seen old holsters marked for federal agencies for revolvers from small Oregon leather companies or other states. Thank you for your knowledge!

    Just my .02 cents. I’m old but not that old …

    in general or combination thereof;

    60s - your general holster with the simple thumb snap, high and tight or low ride. Usually Bianchi or other similar brand (Tex Shoemaker, Aker, etc)

    70s - clamshell (Montibello safety speed brand) / the bianchi border patrol holster / bianchi “judge” holster.

    80s. Hoyt or Nelson break front holsters, then the Safariland brand (level 3, then more for semi autos) that flourished in the 90s to present.

    I’ve seen holsters stamped CHP (specifically Bianchi judge for their model 28s) or SFPD (Hoyt holsters for their model 28s). I’m sure other agencies did but cannot speak which ones .

    Hope this helps a little. M Good luck locating your holster and set up. I’m

          1981 we had to purchase our own uniforms, and leather. Harris & Frank, Fashion Valley is where I purchased everything. My holster was a Bianchi full break front.
