Someday, I will go. I know several of the names on the Memorial as real people. Deputy David Powell, LASD, was a friend and my partner for several nights during the LA Riots in 92. He was killed in 2002.

Rest in Peace, Dave.

I also knew Officer Brad Jones, Glendale, Arizona Police Department. He was my son-in-laws partner. He was murdered last year.

I went several years ago when we lost an officer and had his name added to the memorial wall. I agree with you, every LEO should go back to Washington DC for the Police Memorial Week at least once in their career. You will never forget it!

I've been to the memorial, although not for the annual May 15 event. One of the photos I took there is part of my screen saver to this day. My sole souvenir is a rubbing from the memorial of an academy classmate who was murdered in 1995.
