I have yet to meet ANY LEO who signed on solely to gain exemption from any stupid firearms law these liberals concocted.

And anyone who loves to talk about a separate class "enjoying all these benefits" could always do a ride along, or join- reserve or otherwise. Come see all the fun you've been missing!

    Just sayin'...

Was at LC Action today, the guy said he wasn't sure if i was going to be exempted from the 11%. So it will be interesting to see what happens.

Called TargetsportUSA, and they said that they were working on it and will announce the detail on their website. Still have not seen anything from them. Meanwhile none of the big stores could give me a straight answer, including PF Brea, RG Fountain Valley.

While picking up my AR10 from my LGS i asked about it and they were aware we're exempt, but said that they weren't even able to create an account on the FFL system to even comply yet.

30352(e)(8)(B)(i) states "proper identification" is written certification from the Chief/Sheriff. You need that plus your dept ID. So it's not a blanket "I'm LE and therefore exempt." Think of it like getting a letter from the Chief to skip the 10 day waiting period when purchasing a firearm.

I guess the real questions are (or at least the ones in my head), how can this be applied to online ammo purchases? Are places that will ship to exempted individuals really subject to this extortion, pretending to be something else?

The SCOUS ruling in South Dakota vs Wayfair says "SALES TAX" or "USE TAX", it makes no mention of excise tax imposed by a state. Additionally 36021 RTC says "ammunition vendor", do online ammo sellers need to get an ammunition vendors license from Ca, even though they can not sell to the majority of the states population that would buy ammo?

That's nice, but I wish all law abiding California citizens could be "exempt" from this foolishness.

The only FFL's I expect will honor or know how to honor the exemption are LEO Only shops.
Why would this be confusing? The statute supports this (Go to: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?sectionNum=31700.&lawCo de=PEN)
Section 31700 - Persons exempted (a) The following persons, properly identified, are exempted from the firearm safety certificate requirement in subdivision (a) of Section 31615:

                        (2) Any active or honorably retired federal officer or law enforcement agent.
And, DOJ provides instruction in their Firearms Dealer FAQ?s (Go to: https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/fscfaqs#c4, then click on, "Firearms Dealer?s FAQs):
                        1. 4: It is illegal to photocopy federal credentials. How do I retain a copy of the proof of exemption documentation for individuals with federal credentials?
                          • For individuals with federal credentials record the person's name, federal agency, and credential number rather than photocopying the credentials.
                          • 6: What are the Firearm Safety Certificate requirement exemption codes?

Don't sweat the little stuff. I am retired now but we are know people who work the system selling Off Registered Firearms.

Most Police Unions for 40+ years have always supported Democrats for Governor. Like every member of the CDCR Union gave Gray Davis a $200 in 1998. He gave them a 3.0 Retirement Plan. Then Jerry Brown took it away and they I believe have a 2.5 Plan.
