30 rounds? You must have been made fun of as the gung-ho rookie that was overloaded for bear back then... the same as rooks that carry 3 or 4 magazines on the belt... when most people carry only 2 mags.

In my case, it was Pre-Rambo days so we were called "John Wayne" if we were considered too gung ho in our demeanor or for the gear we had. I came in during the waning days of loops and drop boxes, speedloaders were newfangled gimmicks.
