    Gun in locked container.

First of all , all you LEO's be safe. Question.... if for some reason you pull me over and you have to look in my trunk and you find a locked gun case, do I have to unlock and open it for you? In the gun case I have a G17 unloaded in the same gun case next to my G17 are four mags with ten rounds in each mag. Am I breaking the law? I'm sure everyone is waiting for an answer. Thanks

You are not breaking any laws based on what you have stated, and there are too many variables to give you a definitive answer regarding the reasons and scope of the search.

In reverse order, the answer most people are waiting for is at the Calguns Foundation Wiki -- http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/Transporting

If you mean 'are you breaking the law by carrying the gun and loaded magazines together in the locked case?', no.

Do you have to open the case? Do you even have to open the trunk? Both of those are 'it depends ...' answers, as Ron-Solo notes.

I'm always a bit bemused by the general question - what do you plan to do with your vehicle that you would come to the attention of LEO? I have had no official contact with LEO in over 30 years.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Well, that will have to be remedied.

Just obey all traffic laws and keep your vehicle 100% compliant (no front tints/taillights, etc.). Then hypothetically you can do whatever the heck you want.
