Shellback tactical combat aggressor

I have something similar, the Tactical Tailor low profile carrier (http://www.tacticaltailor.com/vests-...-armor-carrier). The main purpose I was looking for was something quick I could throw on in case there was a hot call, since I mostly sit behind a desk. I also needed a vest that didn't ride low like a full on tactical vest. The Tactical Tailor vest stops about my waistline so it doesn't interfere with my pancake holster. My full on tactical vest sits below the waistline so I can't put it on quickly as the pancake holster will be in the way.
Overall, the Shellback carrier looks the same. I just prefer the mic clip holder to be on the strap that goes over my shoulder so it is closer to my ear. The mic cord may get in the way of my gear if is at center chest.
Many depts. also use www.thevestman.com here in So. Cal. It is similar and nice, but not a molle design, which I prefer. -
Depends what you are doing. The Aggressor is a nice set-up is you are a plain clothes type. It allows you to take the panels from your concealable vest that you aren't wearing all day-every day and make it into a functional external body armor package including your 'raid' set-up. You end up with basically the same ballistic coverage as your duty vest and do not have to use plates to get a nice benefit (but no rifle protection).
If you are a patrol type already wearing a vest and are looking for a way to up-armor for a hot call, I prefer the Banshee. Use it like a plate carrier with a raid set-up. Drop in level 3 or 4 hard plates and hang your 'active shooter' gear on it to make a very nice package.
For patrol, use the color that closely matches your uniform (black for blue uniforms) but make sure identifiers are visible (badge, patches, or whatever your jurisdiction requires). For plain clothes, use the color that is close to whatever your tac or uniform guys run and make sure your put identifier on it (badge, "POLICE" patch, name tape,...). May cut down on the blue-on-blue issues.Comment

These would be for everyday use on patrol (rural ish A/O sheriff office). Our dept had authorized 25 Deputies to purchase a molle setup made by a ****ty knockoff company that look like complete ****. They are supposed to use them as a "test run" for 1 year, but now the company is out of business. Taking it upon myself to try to get the SBT Combat Aggressor approved for use for the same period. The big selling point on the last vest was that it was silver tan, which is our uniform shirt color. To me this was always a huge setback, as most companies make pouches and gear in coyote tan, it almost none make anything in silver tan. The combat aggressor comes in coyote tan, has a drag handle, spot for the badge (most will just get a patch badge put on though), is a reputable company, and IIRC a lifetime warranty and is made in the USA.Comment
