Below is a pretty good "cheat sheet" of the changes to the California weapons laws in the penal code. It was provided by the LA County DA's office, and is allowed to be copied for training.

Technically? No they don't. By the Supreme Law of the Land (aka- The Constitution) if they were not doing anything but simply carrying a concealed firearm then they did nothing wrong and their Constitutional rights were violated.

If I were them I'd petition to take that "conviction" up the ladder of the court system and argue that their 2A rights were violated by a illegal State law that attempts to trump the Constitution of the United States of America.

and all the convictions post Heller/McDonald that have been petitioned to SCOTUS for that reason have been declined by the court.

But then again the Constitution doesn't mean much anymore in this Nation. Someday all these "gun laws" that the States have made will be voided and we can really get back to living in a free society.

yup, someday. But today, those laws are still presumed constitutional until a court agrees with you that they aren't.

Now you only have the right to openly carry an unloaded long gun (ie- rifle, shotgun).

Best way to fix that is fire all the anti-gun democrats from State legislation.

Hey I'm happy is shortened up the paperwork but it's really too bad all of those laws are unconstitutional by definition. How do these laws hold up when countered with the 2A and how "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"? Any good attorney would easily fight these and win because State gun "laws" at their core are unconstitutional and illegal.

Just my opinion (and the opinion of the US Supreme Court)
