Getting L.E. mags shipped to CA difficulty

I am an active LEO here in CA and can not get anyone to ship Mecgar Sig P226 18rnd mags to me. I offered to send a copy of my ID and all said no. I contacted 6 online vendors and all said no can do. Can any LEO's please advise?

I've order LEO mags from www.dsgarms.com www.rainierarms.com and www.sgcusa.com with just faxing or emailing them my ID. Not sure if they carry the mags you are looking for or not. I think I also got some mags from www.44mag.com a while back.

Most brick and mortar shops will sell hi-caps to LEOs over the counter. They need to take a photocopy of the LEO's ID.

ETA: I am not a LEO, but do occasionally work in a gun shop that sells a LOT of Hi-Caps to LEO customers.

Thanks for the referral! We do ship mags to CA LEOs and agencies all the time. Unlike some other vendors mentioned here we are a Calguns vendor/retailer, paying a fee to support this site. Happy to do it too.

CA peace officers can get fully assembled mags from us by scanning & emailing us a copy of your Dept. identification. We have 900 different types of mags in stock including plenty of Mec-Gars. We also ship to non-LEO as rebuild kits and we never charge a rip-off disassembly fee to do it.

BTW, Here's a link to the requested mag: https://www.exilemachine.net/shop/me...d-afc-990.html

                          Don't do this.

Edit: Disregard, it is legal for an officer to do this.

why not? it wouldn't be illegal for the OP to do that.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

The LEO exemption is not for manufacturing. The magazine would be imported as parts and then assembled. This could be considered manufacturing.

I'm not saying helicopters would start circling his house. Just that it's not the way the law was written.

                              Edit: disregard this post.
