    Question Regarding GPS trackers

My agency doesn't use them (that i know of) so I'm not familiar with them. I do need to purchase one for personal use and have no idea which one to get. I read the reviews online about the various models but would like to get input from an LE perspective. Which ones are gonna work? Which ones will give quick and accurate pings and tracks? I just want one that will track live time and dont want to throw away $$$ for one that does not perform. PM me if you have any OPSEC concerns.

The top tier device cannot be purchased by the general public but you can look at a few other companies that offer these for public use. Take a look at wireless matrix and gps Heros. The latter is nice because they do not require a contract. Wireless matrix does and offers a very good covert install.

If you tell me what you are tracking, I can probably provide more choices.

I have used TomTom, Garmin, and whatever came in my current car.

In my opinion, Garmin makes the best unit and is easy to use. It gives the best routes too.

Rag-weed- thanks for that info. I'll be checking them out in the morning. No contract is a plus because I'll probably need it for just a couple months. Most want a full year subscription. I will be tracking a vehicle.

Ron-solo, I think we're thinking of two different kinds of GPS devices. But I do like the Garmin. That is what I currently use for navigation and it is superb. I just need one for tracking at this point.

        Thank you both!

Roger that. Never used the other type and have zero expertise on them.

Cheating wife? Or tracking a teenager?
