    Son got first bonk

My rookie son got hit in the head during a DV call. Skipping details he is fine and just got small bump. Crap I can see not going to enjoy worrying part of his job.

You may want to change the title. Some here may call it profanity and report it.

I didn't see the forum it was posted in and thought this was about him getting "lucky."

Haha, was wondering as well. Thought he was the perp and got popped for soliciting. DV calls suck. Easiest one to have a suspect go sideways on you outta nowhere. Glad he's okay.

It'll be a good learning experience for him. DV calls are where officers can be in the most danger. He'll practice good officer safety from here on out. Glad he's ok.

I notice on dv calls you want to keep your back against a wall.

Are you sworn and is that how you were trained?

Glad it wasn't more serious! We have lost way too many LEOs on DV related calls...

Good luck for your son. When I was working patrol assignment on PM shift, my wife never went to bed until I came home.

Funny how common this phenomenon is...why do they stay up? I sleep soundly after I get home from my night shift.

Same here...Stress and odd hours drove her nuts.
Now I have a new wife. She is also a deputy and works almost same hours. works great.
