Short female LEOs

I was just curious to know if there any female LEO's in your departments that are under the average height. I found an article of one being 4'11".

A few on my shift are about that height. THey are pretty good out here though and I have no complaints.

My fiancee' is 5'2"-ish...she has no problems out here in patrol though. I'll admit to worrying when I here her go to hot calls and I'm on the otherside of my district and can't get close to her side of her district.

We had two about 5' tall. I actually had a suspect laugh when they showed up to cover me. After that he decided to go along with the program, he just kept laughing and shaking his head.

Yes but their training has a way of leveling the playing field so to speak.

One of my sergeants is 4'11" and not to be messed with. Se was also my ADA instructor in the academy. We all got a kick out of that one. She is a little spitfire for sure. Funniest thing is seeing her in riot gear. We kid she looks like Darth Helmet from Spaceballs.

I had a partner who was 5'0" tall and she handled herself very well. She was a black belt in KickYerAss, a distinguished expert marksman, marathon runner, English major, and could talk her way thru most situations without breaking a sweat.

I would work with her ANYWHERE, ANYTIME!

One of my very first nights out, we cruised by a known gang house and saw a group of them standing out in the driveway with all the lights on and 2 LAPD squads parked out front. My FTO and I park and go in to see what's going on and see 3 LAPD officers, all female, all under 5' tall, standing with about 20 gangbangers looking at one dead gangbanger on the ground.

The female cops (1 sergeant, 1 2-striper, 1 trainee) waved us code 4. We looked around, they said it was called in as an OD. The DB had a needle
stuck in his arm and there was a bright red line starting where the needle was and it was going up the arm, looked like the vein or something. Didn't get too close to look.

So we told the 3 LAPD coppers that we are just going to hang around until other units and the paramedics get there. We didn't think leaving the 3 height challenged females alone with the 20+ gangbangers was a good idea.

I think all the females we have are on the short side. The tallest is 5'4" and most are under that. Too bad they are about as wide too... we did have one tall one who was 5'9" but she was way too rough and got tons of complaints.

In military training we had a short, female drill sergeant. I guess she was compensating for something as she was louder and more obnoxious than any 3 guys. She got run out.

I dated this officer she was around 5'2 and a bad a**. Yeah and 80% of LEOs that I've worked with were under 5'4.

Couple of times, I had recruits under 5 feet tall. However, when I train them at the Weapons Training, they were aggressive and handled firearms well including shotguns with buckshots and slugs. However, I don't know how they did on the street.

The females for the most part had a tough time with the shotgun. They were very slow to recover on the recoil, and took longer to fire follow up shots. The rare female officer leaned into it and was able to handle it but you can still notice the slower recovery.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess most of the female LEOs I have seen around my area are just tall. I've only seen a few shorties around my height. Good to know

My wife, also LEO, is barely 5'2" with her Danners on!
