It might be funny if it wasn't actually happening. Sorry, but you have a job that needs to be taken seriously and seeing you laugh at a joke about beating people up for their ideology (something government authorities have done all around the world for centuries) is very unsettling.

Yes it needs to be taken seriously, and when I was on the job, I was on the job, but my job was not my life. It's not my problem that you are wound so tight that you can't understand how that works. I guess you have never laughed at bad humor, if in fact, you ever laughed at all.
As far as beating people for their ideology, that is your interpretation, not mine.
I don't know how I ever made it through my 30+ year career, received numerous commendations, and zero sustained complaints, without your wisdom.

You know what, I don't even know why you guys are here complaining. After all, this is the LEO Forum where "LEOs; chat, kibitz and relax. Non-LEOs; have a questions for a cop? Ask it here, in a CIVIL manner". If you have a problem with the way we "chat, kibitz and relax" then don't come here. If you think a rule has been broken, then tell a Mod. The arrogance of some non LEO's coming here and passing judgement with no experience or clue of how to do the job is just amazing. You can do that on the other forums all you want, but that is not what this forum is for. The fact that some of you come here to critique and inject your opinion on almost every subject just goes to show how obsessed you are in your anti-authority paranoia.

First off: when you use foul language to a fellow poster, you are denigrating yourself more than your object. Being the first kid on the playground to say "shix" didn't make you more of a man then, nor does it now. Anyway ... our local High School asked me to read a poem I'd written, for "Armistice Day". I called it that, and explained that it was a celebration of Peace, when all fighting stopped. Then I moved into the Veterans part of it. My poem made it obvious that I, a warrior, did not relish war, but I felt that I had to do the war thing to guarantee Peace. I do wish my effort had been more meaningful than Viet Nam, but it was my duty. I was amazed at the applause, and "Semper Fi"s I heard (I am not a Marine.) I was dressed in street clothes, no uniform evidence at all. But I did notice one "go-to-hell" Army vet, all gone to seed, long grey hair, beard, mustache, old uniform, crazy hat, etc. I could not damn him for looking just exactly like the hippies who had spit on me when I got home in 1968. Hey, the 1st Amendment has quite some power. But I was time-twisted. It happens a lot. I find it easier to turn away than to fight. I might lose. My mind is a terrible thing, too.

And of course, there's the offensive nature of a bunch of LEO types all having a good laugh at the idea of beating people up for their beliefs.

I am the moderator who deleted the mentioned thread, tho I am not the one who closed this one. I am posting to explain the sole reason it was deleted.

The profanity used in the last line of the OP is what caused that thread to be deleted and that is the only reason it was deleted. If I could have edited that one word and I tried, the thread would have not been deleted.

This is a family oriented site and the use of profanity, no matter how little, is not permitted; plain and simple.

As was stated by yzernie, there is no way to know what preceded that photo and to blankly assume there was an act of inappropriate behavior on the part of the officer is ludicrous.

As was also stated, this is the leo forum and it is provided as an opportunity for the leos, both active and retired to "chat, kibitz and relax." I took the OP to be exactly what it was; humorous, albeit gallows humor.
