It seems he did have a Sac LTC, and had previously had LTCs from both Amador and Caliveras countys.

Weird how there's only 3-4 posts when if it's an anti-cop rant there's 100+ venom spewing posts....

Thank god for cops... I had to have them come out to my job in Roseville last night as I was in a physical fight with a customer.. er I mean a stealing poc......I hope the investigation goes quickly and he's able to fully recover and return to work. I can't imagine the mental and emotional strain this kind of stop brings about.

His ability to own and conceal a firearm as a guard, which appears to be the case, makes it no different then other criminal stories we've heard before.

People will hang on the fact he had a CCW but ignore the facts of how it was obtained unfortunately.

All the publicly released info I can put my keyboard onto indicates...

* Security guard, may or may not have been currently employed.
* Valid security guard firearm and baton permits
* Valid LTC from Sacramento County
* The firearm he used in the shooting was not listed on his LTC

Reports are that his personal life had been devolving, the latest is that recent writings have been discovered indicating he was considering ending it, which raises the spectre of suicide by cop as a potentiality.

Cases like this are never pleasant and it's always deeply troubling when threads go off the rails from a mixture of hate and ignorance of fact.

Happened about a mile from mi casa. Elk Grove PD is right around the corner from where this went down. Too bad it had to dissolve to this. Be nice to see humankind quit involving law enforcement in their spiral off this mortal coil. Glad the CHP officer wasn't killed, hopefully he will pull thru this. For being a nice area, there is always weird stuff going down here. Not sure why. And hopefully the media doesn't do a full scale blitz on the Sheriff about his CCW issuance.

Bad things can happen in nice areas too. Many people do not understand this, and think that LE doesn't have to use good tactics in "nice" areas. It sounds like this Officer was on his toes, which helped him survive this incident.

My prayers to the CHP Officer, his fellow LEOs who had to take action, and to the family of the deceased, who will ask "why" for a long time.

I thought it was kind of weird that dude was from EG. Most times when something shady goes down here, it comes from South Sac and/or Stockton. I liked it better before the housing boom, nobody noticed us.

it's probably because when a good LEO is injured doing his job there is not much controversy, everyone wishes the best for him and his family
