Codes change every year. Depending on what you are doing, you need to have a current code book.

I picked up my Blue Book @ B&N, but you can find copies on Amazon for like $5. If you have a prime account you should be able to get it in 2 days.

Negative, get the 2012. If your academy runs in 2012. You will need the right year book before your instructor yells at you for using outdated books. There is a reason we get them issued every year.

You might be able to use the pdf but for the VC test you'll have to go to the book, so just get the book and start figuring it out. btw, better have the current year as soon as you can get it.

+1 to always use current year books in the academy... unless they aren't issued yet, such as if your academy starts in January like mine did. Then again, my academy also issued a full VC and PC on day one.

Be sure to lay in a good supply of yellow highlighter pens and adhesive tabs.... you'll thank me later.

Numerous codes (especially weapons laws) are being recodified in 2012. Wait for the new editions and buy them. Don't make the Academy harder than it needs to be.

Recruits will have the advantage of never knowing all the old codes that we have to relearn under their new sections.
