    LASD

I got to hang out with the boys from Century a while back and just got around to putting some of the videos up. Thanks a ton to all of the deputies who were very gracious, funny, open, and above all, professional!

Update: Upon further reflection, I removed the videos. You can't identify anyone from them, but still out of respect to the deputy I was with. Thanks for the nice comments, all!

I have some videos of the extraction from the suspect's car, but I don't know if I can post them as their faces are clearly visible. We were the second unit behind them though, so it was pretty crazy to be that close!

Looks like a good ride along.

I know nothing about procedures for a chase like that but, it looks like those Deputies handled it like trained professionals.

Ahh, the luxury of a big agency like LASD... 30 cars in a conga line would be unheard of at my agency! That's two shifts + 2 special units out on one night ! Policy says 2 + Supervisor (weird right?), unless authorized (which usually is)

        Cool vids, glad you enjoyed.

I'll never forget the first time I got to roll code and it was the first day my FTO let me drive. He was calling me a sum of a ***** and mother f'n me the entire time lol. It was a 3 year old choking on a freaking cheeto in a remote county area with dirt roads and no street signs or street lights in the middle of the night. Thankfully we got there in time and I was able to save the kid because the fire dept. couldn't find the place and didn't show up until 20 minutes after us.

My last weekend before going to a desk job back in the day, I got into 2 code 3 runs in one shift, one on a hot burg with 3 suspects and 1 officer, the other with 1 sergeant surrounded by 10+ suspects. The chief heard about it and grounded me for the next (and final) road shift. Said he didn't want me to get in trouble before the new job started.

Here are the pics of the extraction and the unit that tc'd and caught on fire. As I said, I don't know if I can post the video of the extraction as it clearly shows the suspect's faces.

Looks like a fun night. My dept has never taught the tactics they are using on that t-stop. That kid of stuff scares me and IMO is not the best use of the limited resources we have available at the time. I do like the leap-frog idea at the intersections.

What do you mean by the traffic stop? I don't know if it matters but there were about 12-15 units behind the suspect's vehicle.

Traffic stop...high risk stop....just different use of a term I guess.

Having units behind you is really a moot point in my mind.

PM me James if you want me to explain further because I don't ever talk about these things in an open forum.

The dispatcher is a friend of mine.....lol.
glad you had fun, sounds to me like it was a compton pursuit that century units got to join in on, is that right?
